About this shark

This shark was caught in Andros, Bahamas, and is the beautiful animal in the images featured.

About this Adoption

This shark is female, measures a total length of ~150cm, and was fitted with a PIT tag; this type of tag does not transmit signals, but is scanned by researchers during a recapture, just like the tags used in pets. We’ll only get further information on this shark if we or other scientists catch it again. In exchange for this adoption donation, you will have the privilege of naming her, you will receive an adoption certificate, and if we recapture your shark, we will excitedly be in touch with an update!

General Information

Reef sharks are curious yet subtle sharks, and we are grateful to work with them at all life stages, from 80cm juveniles to 220cm adults. If you would like to adopt a classic ‘sharky’ looking shark that has copious amounts of personality and beauty, a reef shark is the choice for you.

On adoption we’ll provide rough information on your shark’s location/s, however we will not be able to share exact data or location points.

** Your adoption certificate will be sent as a PDF to your email address **

**Please note: Occasionally we bring smaller sharks onto the boat as this is the safest and quickest way to tag and release them. Sometimes in pictures it can look stressful for the shark but we promise this is truly the best and fastest way to conduct this work.
