- Beware -

There are many bracelet companies offering customers the opportunity to track a shark with Saving the Blue. We can confirm the only bracelet company we are partnered with to track a shark, is Fahlo.

- Results -

In 2021 we expanded our silky shark project into Florida waters, this project was solely possible due to the financial contributions from Fahlo. In addition, several hammerhead tags we placed were used in stock assessments for both scalloped and great hammerheads in the Gulf of Mexico and the western north Atlantic. During 2022 Fahlo once again supported both our silky and hammerhead shark projects, funding important, crucial and impactful shark research.

- IMPACT -

Funding tags and contributing towards our research is only part of the impact Fahlo is having on our nonprofit. For example, PhD student Vital Hiem has placed a wealth of tags, funded by Fahlo, which directly contributes towards his research goal of influencing the management of hammerheads in this region. In addition to Vital, many students had the opportunity to join us on tagging expeditions for free. Many marine science students were given the opportunity to gain valuable experience which will undoubtably help them in their future careers. Finally, during 2022 the local dive community in Florida were engaged in research in a way like never before. Divers were seeing and photographing our sharks, helping us ID individuals, whilst also providing invaluable data including a sharks location once its tag had fallen off.
